I AM GOING TO CUBA!
Apologies for the less than graceful opening to this post, but there is some Level 10 Excitement happening today. Cuba has been at the top of my travel list for many years. When the United States an Cuba began to relax their tourism allowances, I immediately started to research opportunities for a trip. Today, I am thrilled to announce that Alpaca Your Bags Travel has been selected to join Fathom on a special maiden year voyage! I posted about Fathom last year, but here’s a refresher: Fathom is a new cruise company that specializes in immersive, “cultural exchange” travel. Fathom wants to introduce a new category of travel, which is “travel with purpose.” These seven day trips are focused on a combination of cultural immersion, volunteer experiences and enjoyment. Ports of call include Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. Since I became a travel agent, I have been interested in the concept of volunteer travel. I personally believe that we are incredibly fortunate… anyone that has the means to travel has the means to give back. One of my business goals for 2016 is to find more volunteer opportunities to share with you all. I would be remiss if I didn’t post a public thank you to Matt… he is graciously and generously encouraging me to take this trip, even though it is only one month after our wedding. Thank you! More to come… you’d better believe that I will be writing the sh*t out of this one. |
